A PEAK AT THE CHARLOTTE INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW

The Charlotte International Auto Show is an annual event organized by The Greater Charlotte Automobile Dealers Association and taking place in Charlotte, North Carolina’s largest city, that showcases the very best of automotive offerings to Charlotteans. The 2009 edition of the show is all set to take place at the Charlotte Convention Center, located at 501 S. College Street, Charlotte, NC 28202, between November 19-22, and it promises nearly 280,000 square feet of exhibits and features.

Over 400 new vehicles are expected to be on display at the show, with attendees getting an opportunity to see at what is new and exciting in the automotive world, including a special “green room” and cars depicting the history of the automobile.

The show will kick off with a special Charity Preview Night on Wednesday evening, 6:30 pm – 9 pm,  on November 18, 2009 which will give show goers the opportunity to support the Charlotte Rescue Mission while attending one of the largest Auto Shows in the Carolinas. Larry Sprinkle of WCNC will be emceeing the Live Auction on the Preview Night, proceeds of which will benefit the Charlotte Rescue Mission.

All major automobile manufacturers of the country are expected to be there at the show to showcase their latest offerings, your favorite Chevy include. Other noteworthy mentions would include Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Cobra, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, GMC Truck, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Maserati, Mercedes, Porsche, Scion, Subaru, Toyota and Volkswagen.

You can view the Floor Plan of the show on this page. You will notice that your favorite Chevy folks would be in Hall A-1, occupying maximum floor area of 19,791 square feet, from amongst all other exhibitors at the show.

Tickets for the show cost $8 each, for adults and children aged 13 and above. Children 12 and under gain free admission into the show. For educational and non-profit groups, there are discounted tickets available for which you would need to contact the Show Office in advance. All tickets for the show can not only be purchased at the venue, they can also be bought online, on the website of the show, on this page. By purchasing online, you not only save the hassle of buying tickets at the venue, you also save cash, as online, each ticket is sold at $6 each instead of $8.

In case you do not have the means to purchase online (for instance, you do not have a valid credit card) or for some reason do not wish to purchase and pay online, do not fret; the website also has discounted coupons on it which you can take a print out of here and again save $2 by gaining entry into the show at $6 each.

Timings for the show are Thursday and Friday: 12:00 Noon – 10:00 p.m; Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m; and Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
